Titan-Skin Tighting

The Titan procedure helps tighten the skin and reduces the signs of aging skin, giving you a more youthful appearance.  Collagen is a building block that supports the structure of the skin.  Over time, collagen becomes depleted or damaged by the sun or other environmental factors.  The results are visible signs of aging, such as loose skin and wrinkles.  Once you are in your 20’s, you start to lose elasticity of the face and neck.  The collagen deteriorates at a rate of 1% per year.  Titan is a laser therapy that uses infrared optical light to heat the dermis causing collagen contraction.  The thermal effect creates tissue tightening by remodeling the collagen and elastin in the dermis resulting in a significant lift effect.  At the same time the skin is cooled to prevent damage.  Laser skin tightening can stimulate long-term collagen that results in further tightening and development of a youthful complexion.  Laser skin tightening can be beneficial in the treatment of lax skin on most body parts in addition to the face and neck.

What Patients can use Titan?

Since the Titan procedure heats tissue under the skin’s surface, patients of any skin type or age can be treated.  Dr. Jagodowicz will advise you if the Titan is right for you.

Is the procedure painful?

With each Titan pulse you will feel a brief heating sensation.  Some patients are more comfortable taking a mild pain reliever beforehand.  Many patients are comfortable without any medication.  A numbing anesthetic cream will be applied 30-45 minutes prior to the procedure.

What can I expect following the procedure?

Immediately following the treatment, you may notice some redness and mild swelling in the treated area.  Both should dissipate within a few hours.  Some patients see results immediately.  For most patients, the results are gradual over a three to six month period as new collagen is formed and the skin tightens.

Is one treatment enough?

Although a single treatment has produced very good results for many patients.  It is quite common for patients to have two or three treatments over a few months.  Dr. Jagodowicz will advise you as to the number and frequency of treatments recommended for optimal results.
