Injectable filler are used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines predominately in the face.  They are typically used for the nasolabial folds, gabella (between the eyes) , marionette lines, and lips.  They can also reduce soft tissue defects from surgery or even acne.  When injected below the surface of the skin, these substances plump or fill out the area.  Though the results are immediate, the filler is gradually absorbed by the body and lasts anywhere from 6-12 months depending on the product.

We use Radiesse for nasolabial folds and marionette lines.  This is a synthetic material with an extensive record of safety.  There is no allergy testing required.   This filler tends to last longer than 6 months and is FDA approved for facial lines.

For lip augmentation, we use Belotero, Juvederm, or Silikon 1000.   These are purified viscous and transparent gels consisting of stabilized hyaluronic acid.  The smooth consistency of these products allows for easy injection that is relatively painless. These types of fillers usually last about 6 months.  Injection of Silikon 1000 is a permanent alternative for lip augmentation.
